We all loved our evening at Saltbreaker! Have been wanting to go since they opened, but never found the time. It is perfect! We had reservations and initially were taken to the side room. It's cozy but given our celebratory mood we asked to be moved to front. The hostess worked a bit of magic and we got moved to a charming spot near corner of main room. The bar is gorgeous, the entire place echoed our happy vibes. Ameerat served our table with much kindness and cheer. We honestly could have stayed the whole evening. Wonderful energy that still resonates the following morning. Food was fabulous, edible pieces of art! Drinks were creative and festive. Truly a memorable evening for us. Thank you to everyone at Saltbreaker for giving us such a hearty and welcoming experience.
Service - 4 Food - 4.5 Ambiance - 5 - What a hidden gem. It's intimate with limited seating so reservations are recommended. There's bar seating and booth seating, but they seem to accommodate approx. 45 people. Love this concept so that it's not super crowded. They play great music and the staff is great, friendly and welcoming. - Overall the food is tasty, fresh, and comes in sizable portions. You won't be disappointed. Highlights: - The deviled eggs are something special. The bacon jam, fried onions and flaked sea salt.... Just wow. - The SB burger... wow! The patty itself was flavorful, Smokey and overall seasoned very well. There was pickled fennel that gave some acidity, the white cheddar and dijonaise provided a smooth creamy finish. The brioche bun was soft and held the burger together nicely. IMO- best burger I've had in the bay, hands down. - Drinks are all great!
A nice dinner spot with great service and a friendly staff. The highlights were definitely the focaccia and the smash burger. Here's what we ordered: * Focaccia ($10): Served with butter and roasted garlic * Fresh Made Pasta ($25): Tossed in nduja tomato sauce * Smash Burger ($26) * Pork Belly Sando ($24) * Oranges and Cream Boozy ($15) * Cheesecake ($13)
The front of the restaurant was hard to find. It's tucked in between the warehouses next to Humble Sea but is separate from it. The interior was light-filled and modern. It's a nicer restaurant than the surrounding breweries for celebrations and date nights. They have a private backroom you can rent as well. The drinks were delicious - I particularly liked the Peanut Butter Old Fashioned (Four Roses, Vanilla, Cacao Angostura Bitters). Someone else ordered a Freezer Martini which was basically a really cold martini. The food was upscale bar food. We ordered the smoked trout rillette and burrata with olive tapenade. Service was great even though we were in the backroom. They made sure to check in on us and was able to get us in and out in 45 minutes in time for another event. Definitely make reservations in advance!
This spot is super cute and had a great menu. The service was fast and friendly. The steak frites were absolutely delicious. They had a decent sized bar and some unique cocktails.
Came here on a Wednesday evening with friends and made a reservation ahead of time just in case. Staff and Service: - I'm glad we made the reservation. When we arrived at 6pm for the reservation, the restaurant wasn't crowded, but it did fill up soon after - Our waitress, Cecilia, was fantastic. She was knowledgeable with her recommendations, brought really good energy to the restaurant and our table, was pleasant to talk to, and was quick to help us when we asked for refills / more sauce Food and drinks: - Hatch grilled chicken: grilled chicken sandwich with hatch chiles - this dish was tasty. The chipotle aioli was different than your standard chipotle aioli, but it was still good. You can choose salad or fries as your side. - Steak and frites: comes with tarragon aioli and is a good portion for one person Miscellaneous: - Parking is available via a parking lot outside of the restaurant - There is a cute bar inside as well with good aesthetics - Good for large groups (saw a group of ~14 when we were there) and smaller groups
Saltbreaker is my NEW ALL-TIME FAVORITE IN THE BAY AREA. From welcoming us into the beautiful restaurant to the exploding fresh flavors. I loved the chicken thighs and the pesto pasta the best. The princess cake was amazing also. The burrata was delicious as well. And the Caesar salad tasted so fresh. I loved my sugar cane root beer and the Scarlett looked delicious as well! The service was excellent and the interior design was impeccable. Loved the sultry music as well, that was a nice touch h. Thank you Saltbreaker for making my first experience simply wonderful.
Dinner! So, our friends invited us to dinner. They suggested Saltbreaker in Alameda and we met them there on a Friday night. There's plenty of parking out front but you have to ignore the Restricted Parking Signs that say a permit is required. I parked in the area south of the restaurant which was probably parking for the building next door. Whatever. The place was hopping when we walked in. Staff and customers were all apparently smiling which is always a good sign. We took our seats, ordered drinks and perused the menu. We also looked at the specials board which offered one app, one entree, one dessert and one beverage. There's one photo below that is unlabeled because I can't remember what it was but I'm reasonably sure it was the Special Appetizer of the Day. Service was great. It was definitely a team effort. Ambiance was appropriate for a place with a full bar and lots of diners. The meal flow was excellent. Portions were not huge but sufficient for sharing. Pricing was reasonable. Flavors ran from good to excellent. There were no failures. I found the Crispy Potato Gratin to be particularly good. It looks like three simple blocks of potatoes, but the outside was super crispy and the inside, super fluffy. Add a little onion and chive cream to the bite and it's a winner! The Chicken Thighs and Salmon were also well prepared. This is a great place to have an after-work meal and just chill for a bit.
We've recently visited Saltbreaker Restaurant and had an amazing experience. The hospitality was top-notch, thanks to the outstanding service provided by the host, Scott. Cannot forget Ceecee, who added a positive touch to the welcoming note and overall stay. They were both incredibly attentive and friendly, making us feel right at home. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the burger, accompanied by the round on the house (THANK YOU, Scott). The burger was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. Every bite was a delight. The fries was something not to forget - crispy and perfectly done. The inside of the restaurant has a cozy seating, cute little bar with wide selection of spirits of your taste. The in-house recipe of Manhattan, preferred by an awesome bartender, gets a shout out as well. I highly recommend Saltbreaker Restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. Five stars all the way!
